A Vision·
Already over 60 and soon to be retired! And then what? All the skills acquired in life will soon be put to rest due to a lack of opportunities? For the two of us?
Unimaginable!
On September 27, 2019, we visited this house in Brécey and agreed: this wonderful place can be more than just a holiday home.
Apparently, the house didn't need much renovation. The garden, on the other hand, needs a lot of work to keep it from becoming overgrown. But, "We've found the most beautiful corner of Normandy!" says Paul, and I agree. The sea is half an hour away, and we're surrounded by green hills, apple trees, and cows.
The property covers a total of 7000 m2, with our neighbor grazing a fenced-off area of approximately 2500 m2 with her cozy cows.
What are the ideas:
The house itself currently accommodates eight people. There are two larger rooms that could be temporarily cleared for unspecified purposes.
The grounds are spacious and beautifully landscaped, with plenty of places to retreat to. It is located at the end of a cul-de-sac in a small hamlet with three neighbors, offering views of the expansive countryside, fruit trees, streams, and many birds, some of which, unfortunately, like to fly into the house.
Art groups, painting and drawing, sculpture, exhibitions in the house or garden, music, possibly the construction of a new wooden house for art courses, small groups, cooking, French courses (not by me though, I'm learning on my own!). For now, however, we are happy to share the house with friends, acquaintances and colleagues so that they can spend their holidays here.
